Peace fast day 17

Day 17
Isaiah 26:3
You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast because he trusts you.

In this song of praise, Isaiah expresses his thanks to God for being a just God and for securing peace in those who are constantly fixed on him. Do you totally trust God with your life? Are your thoughts constantly fixed on His plan for your life? When I start to worry or stress in the least bit I know it's because I am not trusting God and allowing him to move perfectly in my life. Relax and know that He is God. There is nothing you can do other than give him the glory.

A few sayings to help you trust God and find peace in this trust:
What God has for me is for me.
When man plans, god laughs.
God is in control.
Be still and know that I am God.
Don't worry about anything, pray about everything.
In God we trust.
I trust God to show me the way.
Thank God for what you have. Trust God for what you need.

Day 16
Isaiah 9:6
For unto us a child is born, a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders and he will be called; Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace

If you believe stand up! Amen! In the name of Jesus, believers stand on the foundation that Jesus was born as flesh on earth and redeemed us. He stood up for our sin and sacrificed himself for us to change the way we were governed by God. He made us his righteousness!

As I meditated on this Word, I thought about God's names in this verse.

1. Womderful Counselor - an advisor The consultant we should call on when we need help or are uncertain about an issue, person, place or thing. There have been times when I was going through something Iand wanted someone to talk to but no one was available. In those moments God reminds me that he is present and the only one I should really turn to for advice.

2. Mighty God - Merriam Webster gives a definition of God that describes him as perfect in power and wisdom and goodness, and the one who is creator and ruler over earth. In this instance God in the flesh = Jesus, born to redeem. He didn't have to but he did! With God (the creator) for us no one can be against us (there is peace in knowing that fact).

3. Everlasting Father - HE WILL NEVER FAIL HIS CHILDREN!!!!!! AMEN!

4. Prince of Peace - a prince is ruler under king and or the ruler of turf/ territory. This verse refers to Jesus as the ruler of peace! God rules our freedom. you want to be free? Look to God. Jesus died so we could live freely! Amen it's yours!

Day 15
Proverbs 16:7
When a man's ways are pleasing to the Lord, he makes even his enemies live at peace with him.

Work has been daunting to say the least. I was speaking to my cousin today and she asked me how I was handling all of the "drama." I told her I was focusing on God.

A few days ago we learned that if we find peace with God prosperity will come (Job 22:21). [Prosperity refers to the success of every arena of your life and not just your finances] Proverbs 16:7 extends to say peace with God causes even our enemies to live among us - trouble free! So when I'm in a situation that has been or tries to be negative or hostile in anyway I adjust my focus and remember the peace God has instilled in me.

One of my favorite lines from the 23rd Psalm is "he leadeth me besides the still water." The thought of still water puts me in a place of quiet, of meditation and clarity. Isn't that peace! Try it with me. Close your eyes and imagine being led besides the still water by God. As we walk our walk in this life it's nice to know that despite what was, is or is to come God is with us. Not only is he forever present, he is also directing our path and making peace our traveling partner. If things around you are frustrating and distracting, take time to be present in your peace. The peace God has made available to you is waiting to join you in this walk!

tomorrow's verse: Isaiah 9:6

14 Days of Peace (Week 2)

Week 2 came upon us so quickly. At this point we know that trials and trouble are still lurking (now more than ever) but we've changed our minds so we now know how to deal with this pain in a way that allows us to maintain our foundation and continue to pursue ultimate happiness.

Day 14: Proverbs 14:30 A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones.

Commit your heart to being at peace. Look, I can tell you that this is a difficult task. At least three times a day, I find myself struggling to feel good, fighting the temptation to pay back evil for evil or hurt for hurt and conquering my fear of loneliness. The truth is what sets me free. Believing what God says helps get me back on track. I also remind myself that I have a choice - there are options. I can choose to know I have peace inside of me - planted like the rest of my organs and ready to be used daily for my survival. Recognizing the light inside you doesn't mean things will happen perfectly - it means your better off now than you were before. It means there is a goal to achieve an end point to this thing that will provide the reward we've needed so long.

Has anyone ever told you that stress will kill you? Envy - a resentful or unhappy feeling of wanting what someone else has - is a form of stress that will rot our bones. Be careful not to want so much of what others have. I like to remember that what God has for me is for me. No one can open a door that God closes or close a door that God opens. The more we realize that this is God's plan and we are limited operational partners, the sooner we will learn to trust His works. Opening your heart to God invites peace and longevity. Live strong!

Tomorrow's scripture Proverbs 16:7
Day 13: Psalm 85:10
LOVE AND FAITHFULNESS MEET TOGETHER; RIGHTEOUSNESS AND PEACE KISS EACH OTHER.

I came across this pic and it really expressed psalm 85:10. I see a loving, thriving, committed community and even though it takes a lot of hard work on all ends to get to this place the effort is mandatory as everyone has a common goal. It is only in the presence of God that we find reason to be all the good and positive things he's called us to be. Faithful, loving, righteous and true - Peace is the blessing we have been granted to bestow upon others lighting the way for their paths.

Tomorrow's passage Proverbs: 14:30

I probably listen to this song every morning. It reminds me to count my blessings instead of focusing on the things I don't have YET! God's timing is so perfect. His plan can never be thwarted, so be a peace with His plan for your life as you remember just how blessed you really are.
Day 12:
Psalm 37:37
Consider the blameless, observe the upright; a future awaits those who seek peace.

If you are taking this journey or any other Christian-based pursuit, remember to look to those who are living examples in which you can call on for help and/or advice. There are times when holding on to your blessing of peace will be difficult. When you are faced with adversity go to your bible and study the habits of those that victoriously came through a similar struggle. When you want to connect with someone - look to those they regularly strive to make good of the gift God has bestowed upon them. These people have a future promised by God. I encourage you to keep drawing upon your blessings. Don't waste the jewels that you've been given by God's grace - they are also integral pieces of the map that leads us home.

Tomorrow's scripture >>> Psalm 85:10

Peace Fast Day 11

Day 11
Psalm 37:11
BUT THE MEEK WILL INHERIT THE LAND AND ENJOY PEACE AND PROSPERITY

I did a search on the word Meek. It literally means humble patience. Both are hard concepts for most of us to understand, let alone practice. Remembering the reward of humility and knowing that its presence breaks down walls to help us better communicate with God and others helps keep us on the right side of the track. I was thinking about a recent break-up, for me the hardest part of the break-up is wondering if my ex's next partner will be better than me. I had to remind myself that we are all God's children, no one better than the other in His eyes and all justified by the blood. This kingdom perspective helps me see the truth about myself and others, recognizing how hard we are all trying to live better lives. Seeing myself the way God sees me helps to keep me humble.

"Patience is a virtue," a term we've heard and have probably used without really knowing how it applies to us. People that practice patience do it from a place that respects moral excellence. It says, I will wait without complaining because you deserve the time you need. This is a challenge for me. I have never had the gift of patience and because I hear you have to be tried in order to receive it I rarely ask for its gift. To know however, that God works on His time and to respect His knowledge helps me find peace; accepting that His movement is made perfectly and cannot be thwarted. The psalm says that the people who can humbly and patiently accept God's movement will inherit peace AND prosperity. What a blessing.

Tomorrow's reading Psalm 37:37

Peace Fast Day 10

Day 10: Psalm 34:14
TURN FROM EVIL AND DO GOOD; SEEK PEACE AND PURSUE IT

Instead of cursing someone out in the car beside me, having the last word in a disagreement, or telling the customer in line behind me her "much needed" truth - I relax and know that I can be a bigger and better blessing if I chose to communicate in more positive ways. Turning from the evil things we do or say in an unguarded moment is a true exercise and testament of our growth and strength in God's power. I remember watching an old episode of Oprah, Iyanla Vanzant was her guest and she said changing our lives often times begins with re-recording our mental cassette tape (reprograming our thoughts). Intentionally turning from the negative actions we may have chosen to take is the next step. This is where our new thoughts can come in to help us practice more peaceful living on a daily basis. I think it's important to recognize how evil is directly ahead and we must turn from it but peace needs to be found and pursued. Ironically - as we found out yesterday - God blesses his people with peace so the journey and pursuit of peace is a direct road to God. Once we have established our relationship with Him and pursue his calling for us #BAM there peace is too!

Day 11: Psalm 37:11
Peace Fast Day 9: Psalm 29:11
THE LORDS GIVES STRENGTH TO HIS PEOPLE. THE LORD BLESSES HIS PEOPLE WITH PEACE.

For me, the Word of the day isn't always about learning a new lesson. I find that there are times when I just need something to hold on to - something to remind me of God's higher power. This scripture is meditative. Throughout the day there are so many opportunities to fail - way more than there are to succeed. When faced with one of those times it is helpful to remember that the Lord gives us strength and blesses us with peace, so we don't have to be tempted by fear, hurt and anger. Instead we can hold on to God's mighty word which reminds us to exercise our gifts and believe in the hope He gives not what the world says about us.

Day 10: Psalm 34:14 (can't wait)!
